Except for you. And you even brought cake.

It may sound trite to say that you’re thoughtful.
But sometimes what goes without saying needs to be said.

It’s just you and me with a piece of cake each.
We headed out to the balcony.
You sarcastically say to me, “Nice party.”

I joke, “That’s so funny I forgot to laugh.”
